Biography
Cleo Papanikolas' has a BFA in printmaking from California College of Arts (and Crafts), and an MFA in painting from the University of California at Berkeley. She is the illustrator of The Comfort Queens Guide To Life (Random House 2000) and a line of over 75 licensed products based on the book. She has painted murals and faux finishes in a large variety of dining establishments: private custom kitchens, gourmet grocery stores, a family bakery, a zen Japanese restaurant, a gilded hotel dining room, and a pick-up bar. She once spent days suspended in a scissor lift above a food court in a giant shopping mall in Texas. She has had numerous shows of her oil paintings, and her illustrations and/or writing has been published in Taste Magazine, The Bark, the San Francisco Examiner, ReadyMade, and Edible San Francisco.
